Merit, Caste, And Reservation: The Conundrum

To quote Justice DY Chandrachud’s, response to an argument relating to reservations and merit,

“This is not a novel argument. There has been a longstanding debate over whether reservation for any class impinges on the idea of merit” (Neil Aurelio Nunes and Others v. Union of India, 2022).
